Oil lamp

sold + tax

This light was originally built by PGH Stassfurt, a now defunct East German cooperative. Built in the 1960s, the body was made out of polished die-cast aluminium while the glass cylinder was hand-blown. Initially designed for use with a neon tube, the fixture has now been converted for use with a 25W tubular bulb filled with 0W10 racing oil. The mountings of the wall bracket are cast elements made in the 1930s which were originally used to secure banisters in a factory building. The metal tubes used stem from contemporary production.
