With different types of salvaged lights arriving all the time, the first time a new one is dismantled is always carefully documented. Sadly, having to remove screws which have become stuck fast due to contact corrosion and other little surprises are virtually inevitable.
The next step is to treat the surface of the individual components. This is done either at our own workshop or by regional specialists, and involves fine blasting, grinding polishing, galvanizing, powder-coating – in fact anything the customer desires.
Afterwards, the light fitting is reassembled. The electrical components which can be substituted with new parts are replaced. However, all the electrical sections which contribute to the light's appearance are reconditioned.
There's new, fascinating work to be done every day. It all boils down to a blend of documentation, research, brainteasers and craftsmanship. And d'you know what? We couldn't think of a better place to work!
