This item is really hard to find! We've salvaged a few of these gems from some sort of transformer/control room in the wilds of what used to be East Germany, where it was probably made in the 1950s or 1960s. It comprises a small ceramic E14 socket on a die-cast aluminium body and thick protective glass fitted with a rubber profile fixed to the body. In this version, the two sections are held firmly together by the screwed-on steel cage. Body and cage have been re-polished.
