These steel wall cupboards were made in the 1920s to store fire hoses. We salvaged them from the social wing of a ball bearing factory in Leipzig, now demolished. They have a wonderfully simple design emanating from the Bauhaus and feature perforated metal doors. We have sandblasted the cupboards before brushing and varnishing the metal. Inside they contain shelves made out of used pieces of different types of wood (oak, beech and pine) treated with hard oil. The cupboards are priced at €695 each – we have three available which can also be purchased as a set for just €1600.
