1930s railway spotlight

This exceptional, floor-standing industrial spotlight with black enameled shade has been used by the German state railway Reichsbahn and was probably designed & crafted by a resourceful railway engineer. It can be dated back to the 1930s. With the nicely curved wooden handle, the shade can be tilted vertically through 180° and horizontally through 360° (infinitely adjustable). The locking mechanism is a cleverly devised spring motion.
