Iron cabinet

sold + tax

This small iron cabinet comes from a workshop used to train apprentice railway workers at Deutsche Reichsbahn. Whether it was built by an apprentice, a journeyman or a master craftsman is anybody’s guess.

We’re pretty certain that the cabinet once had a very different appearance before being considerably altered. Estimating the age of the cabinet is also tricky – all we can say is that it was built sometime between 1920 and 1960.

We’ve sandblasted, brushed and waxed it. And we’ve fitted new shelves inside made out of wood taken from the floorboards of an old brewery and treated with hard oil.
